Being reaaaaaalllly uncomfortable with the public nature of our blog, I am shutting it down.

There is always a ‘but’ –

We are back on FB, which I think most of you are as well.

It’s easier to manage who sees our pics and reads about my kids.

With all the weirdos and pervs out there, I just don’t like having names and pics out in the open.

Look for Rohmans Road on FB instead and we’ll connect there.

A disclaimer, though:

We are only connecting up with those who are family or who live far away.

I HAVE to keep it that way or I will waste hours and hours reading through every bodies posts.

Just being candid here, exposing my weaknesses for all the world to see.

You’re welcome.

Any-whooo, I’ll leave this up for about a week and then delete everything once I copy it all.

See you on FB!

It’s good to laugh.

And to laugh hard.

And Tim Hawkins can usually be depended upon to elicit such laughter.

Have a great weekend!

The Fishbowl Effect

Friends and Family:

I am asking for a favor.

Within the next week, I am going to be setting this blog to ‘private’.

The reason being, I don’t like the thought of just anyone being able to read about and see photos of our family.

Much like any social network (Facebook, Twitter, etc), one will need to have a WordPress account to view the blog. But most important, you’ll need to have an invitation from me first.

Would you kindly leave me a comment in the ‘Comments’ section of this post if you would like to receive an invite? I will then send you one through email.

Thank you!

Tomorrow they will be seventeen.

And what I want to know is, when on earth did they go from this:

To this?:

At times it feels like it was overnight.

Other times, it feels like an eternity.

Like when they were too little to make it to the bathroom to throw up and puked all over the carpeting, each other and the bedding instead.

Those days felt like an eternity.

But now the apron strings have been cut and they are well on their way to soaring out of the nest.

My only consolation in this bittersweet hour is that I have one and a half more years before they graduate.

One more year before they turn eighteen.

I can’t wait to see what the Lord has planned for their lives.

But for today, I thought we could take a little walk down memory lane.

Care to join me?

So here I am in all my twin pregnancy glory. When it was all said and done, I measured over 63 centimeters. The boys weighed 6 lbs, 12 oz and 7 lbs, 1 oz respectively.

Aye yi yi.

In the blink of an eye…

Every year, Noelle’s elementary group takes a field trip (HA! No pun intended.) to the local Corn Maze.

And boy, howdy! It. Was. COLD!

But it’s her last year as (SNIFF!) an elementary student, so I went as a field trip mom.

Four layers, gloves and hat later, I was able to get my fingers to work to take some photos.

On the hay ride: Kassidy, Tressa, Noelle

The hay ride took us to the pumpkin patch where we all got to pick one pie pumpkin.

Then it was time to go through the maze. The muddy, wet maze.

Yep. Everyone’s shoes had to come off before getting back into my vehicle.

In spite of the cold, they had so much fun trying to find their way out. That’s my little friend, Kassidy.  She’s about the size of a peanut! So that’s what I call her.

The corn stalks made a great break from the wind.

Towards the end, the kiddos got nice and warmed up jumping on a giant, in ground bouncy bubble.

It was a really fun day.

Even in the cold.

The crazy things we do for our kids.

We had a great time taking our own family pictures!

I am not a photographer, nor have I ever played one on T.V.

But it was super fun finding creative places to pose as a family and spending some time TOGETHER.

Here is a sampling of the day:

(Our final family photo will be on our Christmas cards.)

Did some funky photo finishing with this one. Pat’s head is kinda bright.

I like how I’m checking Patrick out in the photo above.

Well, fine.

Court isn’t exactly halfway to forty, but she will be in two years.

And that qualifies her.

Be still my beating heart.

But for now, please enjoy the first installment of our ziplining adventure.

I thank my friend, Stacey, for capturing these fun shots!

First, we had to sign our lives away and get harnessed up. I’m glad they had guides to help us with that part or I STILL might be there trying to figure it out.

Here we are, all suited up.

Court is in the back row, gray shirt, fourth from the left.

I am in the front in the blue shirt with the goofy smile.

Now check out Bob. He is second from the left. His girlfriend is third from the left.

Bob is in his eighties, his girlfriend almost seventy.

They ziplined with us. What a fun couple! I wanna be like them someday.

Next, they have to check your harness. This was the ONLY time I went upside down that day.

Next, we traveled to the lines in an open trailer. Part of the trip went up an old pioneer road and the guides gave us a history lesson as we went!

Here I am with my long time friend, Laura. Our first babies were born two weeks apart. And we’re still goofing off together, only this time, it wasn’t in Lamaze class.

Here goes Court off the first of the four lines. No problem. Easy cheesy.

Here’s Yours Truly coming in for my first landing.

It feels like you are one with a slingshot at that moment.

Here’s the whole gang after the longest and final run. The lines on this one are over 1600 feet in length and run parallel with each other.

So we got to race.

And I beat Courtney, neener neener!

I am in the back row, second from left and Court is also in the back row, third from left by the pole.

And here we are with Bob. He joked the entire time that he had an entire group of lovely ladies to carry him up the stairs!

I’m afraid I am blocking Courtney’s head with my large helmet.

More pics of our adventure to come!
