Every December, the girls get to dress up in formals and the guys get to shave and brush their teeth for the annual Christmas party, hosted by their high school youth leaders.

This year, the boys bought their shirts the day before and Beth had her dress picked out in June.

And here are some photos so you can see just how nice they all clean up:

HUMBUG!

The kid’s school (Treasure Valley Baptist School) held their annual sports fundraiser last night.

The fundraiser included a spaghetti dinner, gift basket auction and a musical adaptation of ‘Scrooge’.

James was cast in the role of Ebeneezer Scrooge and did a fantastic job! He had us all in stitches.

And the great part about having an identical twin during plays is that Austin was cast as ‘Young Man Ebeneezer Scrooge’ and was on stage at the same time as James. It was classic!

Bethany played the part of Emily Cratchet and Noelle was an orphan girl who sang with a special music group.

The kids had SO MUCH FUN putting on a musical. Even the guys, who were resistant at first to the idea of a musical, enjoyed the fun they could have on stage.

Here are some photos from the event:

Tomorrow they will be seventeen.

And what I want to know is, when on earth did they go from this:

To this?:

At times it feels like it was overnight.

Other times, it feels like an eternity.

Like when they were too little to make it to the bathroom to throw up and puked all over the carpeting, each other and the bedding instead.

Those days felt like an eternity.

But now the apron strings have been cut and they are well on their way to soaring out of the nest.

My only consolation in this bittersweet hour is that I have one and a half more years before they graduate.

One more year before they turn eighteen.

I can’t wait to see what the Lord has planned for their lives.

But for today, I thought we could take a little walk down memory lane.

Care to join me?

So here I am in all my twin pregnancy glory. When it was all said and done, I measured over 63 centimeters. The boys weighed 6 lbs, 12 oz and 7 lbs, 1 oz respectively.

Aye yi yi.

In the blink of an eye…

~J
